AEW Dynamite results from 05-04-2022

It’s Wednesday night and you know what that means!

Tony Schiavone, Excalibur and Jim Ross are the broadcast team for tonight’s event.

MATCH #1: Qualifying Match in the Men’s Owen Hart Tournament:
Jeff Hardy vs. Bobby Fish
Jeff Hardy starts out confidently, dropping Bobby Fish with a shoulder tackle as he then dances in the middle of the ring. In the corner, Hardy continues his attack, but Fish then turns it around and sends Jeff into the turnbuckles, lighting him up with strikes. Fish then unloads with body shots, and knee strikes, keeping in control.

That is until he leaps over the top rope to try and drop down to Jeff, as Hardy moves out of the way. However, when they head to the outside, Fish connects with a dragon screw that sends Jeff into the barricade. Back inside the ring, Fish continues his attack until Hardy goes for a roll-up out of nowhere.

The Undisputed Elite star kicks out, and then nails Jeff with a knee strike to regain control. Jeff looks for a jawbreaker but Fish sees it coming and hits a knee to the face, but Hardy goes back to the well again, and the second time … Read More

AEW Dynamite results from 04-27-2022

It’s Wednesday night and you know what that means!

Tony Schiavone, Excalibur, and Jim Ross were the broadcast team for tonight’s event.

MATCH #1: Qualifying Match in the Men’s Owen Hart Tournament:
Dax Harwood vs. Cash Wheeler
The two men lock up early on, and then they work each other’s arm, with Cash Wheeler taking his opponent down to the mat. They go back and forth with more wrestling and then come up to a standing ovation as they shake hands. Wheeler drops his partner with several shoulder tackles, but he then responds with an arm drag.

Dax Harwood ends up poking the eye of Wheeler, and that leads to Cash firing up and shoving him as he then responds with a knee strike. The two then scale to the top turnbuckle as Harwood nails a superplex, which leads to both men being down. Dax misses with a diving headbutt, and then Wheeler connects with a baseball slide to send him to the floor.

Wheeler then continues the attack inside the ring, sending Dax sternum first into the turnbuckles. He then hits a German suplex, maintaining the waist lock as he hits another two. However, as Cash looks for a … Read More

AEW Dynamite results from 04-20-2022

MATCH #1: One-On-One Match:
CM Punk vs. Dustin Rhodes
The two men shake hands to get things started, showcasing respect towards each other, and then they lock up. Dustin Rhodes then gets the better of the situation to start things off with a shoulder tackle, and a hip toss. CM Punk gets back into things himself, but it doesn’t take long for the veteran to slow things down with a few more hip tosses.

Punk manages to dump Dustin out of the ring by diving to the leg of his opponent, which leads to Rhodes spilling out of the ring. Inside the ring, Punk begins to target the knee of Dustin, stomping down on it while the leg is propped up on the bottom rope. Rhodes then picks up the pace with a few shots, but then Dustin’s leg gives up on him as he tries to lift up Punk.

The bodyslam doesn’t work and Punk drops back down to him. CM Punk then mocks the Goldust pose, which leads to a few more punches by Dustin. He looks for a roll-up, but Punk kicks out and then gets hit by a lariat. Punk then once again focuses on the … Read More

Pros & Cons Tag Team Edition: Squared Circle Expo 2 Review

While I’ve had the pleasure of attending several conventions and expo’s over the years, some of my favorite have been those shows that cater to a specific audience such as the horror scene for instance and last year I was able to attend my very first wrestling expo, Squared Circle Expo and it left me wondering how exactly were owners Adolfo Dorta & Ed Gonzales going to top what they produced last year and I’m very pleased to say they did exactly that.

Squared Circle Expo 2 took place at the same venue as the first SCX which was the Wyndham Indianapolis West Hotel, a rather familiar venue to locals in the convention scene as it tends to host several other conventions from horror cons to local shows and a space that really feels right at home for such an event as SCX2 as the setup was pretty much the same this time around as it was last year with the same large vendor area with what seemed to me even more vendors this year than there was the previous year. AEW Dynamite results from 04-13-2022

This week’s AEW Dynamite seemed like another packed episode, including two massive dream matches on the card. While Samoa Joe battled it out against NJPW legend Minoru Suzuki for the ROH TV Championship, CM Punk will face Penta Oscuro.

Apart from that, Marina Shafir will be in action against Skye Blue. Plus, the Jericho Appreciation Society would also be competing against Eddie Kingston, Santana and Ortiz.

We’re underway! Excalibur, Jim Ross, and Tony Schiavone are on commentary.

MATCH #1: One-One-One Match:
CM Punk vs. Penta Oscuro
The crowd cheered for CM Punk and Penta as they stared down before their match started on AEW Dynamite. Both performers began trading some brutal chops before hitting elbow shots at each other. The Second City Saint instantly went for the GTS, but Penta countered it into an ankle lock.

Moments later, CM Punk hit a Suicida on the outside, taking Penta down. Back in the ring, the former AEW Tag Team Champion was down on his knees, urging CM Punk to bring the fight to him. Punk hit an overhead suplex for a close count.

AEW Rampage results from 04-15-2022

This week’s special edition of AEW Rampage featured plenty of notable bouts, including a Texas Death match for the AEW Championship between Hangman Page and Adam Cole.

Blackpool Combat Club (Jon Moxley, Bryan Danielson, Wheeler Yuta) were in trios action against Gunn Club (Billy, Austin, and Colten), while Ruby Soho competed in her first TV match in months.

MATCH #1: Trios Tag Team Match:
Billy Gunn, Austin Gunn and Colten Gunn vs. Bryan Danielson, Wheeler Yuta and  Jon Moxley
Danielson, Yuta and Moxley all get separate entrances. Regal enters with Yuta and then takes a seat at the commentary desk.

Yuta and Austin start out. Austin gets the better of an early exchange and trips up Yuta. Yuta turns the tables and goes to work on Austin’s arm.

Austin escapes and tags in Colten. He whips Yuta into the corner but Yuta swats away a dropkick and ties up Colten’s legs. Colten gets to the ropes to break the hold.

Yuta tags in Danielson, who continues to work on Colten’s legs. He works his way to a surfboard on Colten.

Danielson releases Colten and Colten tags in Billy. Billy pushes Danielson into the corner and whips him into the corner. … Read More

AEW Dynamite results from 04-06-2022

AEW is invading Beantown tonight as we’re LIVE from the Agganis Arena in Boston, Massachusetts! As expected, we’re getting right to the action!

MATCH #1: One-On-One Match:
Adam Cole vs. Christian Cage
The two men lock up early and it is Christian Cage who takes control to start, but Adam Cole quickly reverses it by taking the veteran into the corner, abusing the full five count. Cole then rolls to the outside and then spits at Christian. However, as he tries to run around, Cage goes under the ropes and then drops him with a clothesline.

Cage then unloads a series of chops, but Cole reverses when being put on the top turnbuckle. He escapes out and hits a kick to the legs, which sees Cage drop and hang, allowing Adam to get a free superkick shot to the face. Outside the ring, Cage is then sent into the guard rail and the steel steps.

Cole continues putting pressure on inside the ring, standing down on his neck while Christian’s head is stuck on the bottom rope. The veteran once again turns things around with a dive to the outside, and then they go back and forth with punches inside … Read More

AEW Dynamite results from 03-30-2022

MATCH #1: One-On-One Match:
CM Punk vs. Max Caster
We are kicking off tonight’s show with CM Punk in action! Max Caster makes a Will Smith joke to start his rap while claiming CM Punk’s movies are what will put him to sleep. The two men lock up to start things out, with Caster then connecting with a knee strike to take control. However, Punk responds by bringing the younger star to the mat as he begins working on his injured shoulder.

Punk connects with a shoulder tackle and then goes for a crossbody, but Caster catches him in mid-air and drops him down to his knee. Punk then gets launched into the corner, but he comes back with a dive down from the top turnbuckle, following up with an atomic drop and a lower suplex.

Punk then goes for the knee to the corner but misses, and then he nails a big chop to the neck, followed by a fisherman buster. However, Punk is able to kick out. Caster then heads to the top rope but Punk scouts it and fires in some chops. He then hits a hurricanrana from the top rope.
