He’s Back, Baby! My Thoughts on the WWE Return of Cody Rhodes

The date: April 2nd 2022. I’m in my living room,  marking out in a way I haven’t since I was a little kid. Why, because I suddenly have faith in the WWE again. I will be brutally honest, when I first started wrestling, it was unanimous that the WWE was the goal and top aspiration for all indie wrestlers and as time drove on, it suddenly wasn’t. The last few years have been hard on everyone, but especially for Vince McMahon’s employees. Apparently, it was so bad that The Elite, who up to this point was a wrestling faction and also a podcast group, decided to make their own t-shirt… uh, I mean wrestling company. Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love AEW and what they have accomplished, but when it becomes too much? Well, apparently for Cody Rhodes “too much” was reached on Feburary 15th 2022.

WWE WrestleMania 38: Night 2 results from 04-03-2022

Night 2 of WWE WrestleMania 38 opens up LIVE from AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Mike Rome introduces singer Jessie James Decker for the “America The Beautiful” performance. Decker finishes up as the fireworks explode in the stadium. We cut to the opening video package, which starts with highlights from Night 1. Mark Wahlberg appears and will narrate this video like he did on WrestleMania Saturday. Wahlberg says the sequel usually isn’t as good as the first, but this will be one of those rare moments. Wahlberg goes on and says that’s it for the previews, it’s time for the main show, and this sequel isn’t edge of your seat, it’s out of your seat. He welcomes us back to the most stupendous two-night event in history, to WrestleMania Sunday.

We’re live from AT&T Stadium in Arlington, TX as Jimmy Smith welcomes us to ringside. He says we’re still recovering from Night 1. Smith is joined at ringside by Corey Graves and Byron Saxton.

WWE WrestleMania 38: Night 1 results from 04-02-2022

Night 1 of WWE WrestleMania 38 opens up LIVE from AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas with country music star Brantley Gilbert on the big stage with his band. They perform “America The Beautiful” and then the fireworks explode inside the stadium. We cut to the opening video package, narrated by Mark Wahlberg.

We’re LIVE again as The Grandest Stage of Them All opens up with more pyro going off. Michael Cole welcomes us to the home of the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys, and tonight the home to more than 70,000 fans. Mike Rome introduces the world famous Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders and out they come to the stage, performing to “Thunderstruck” by AC/DC. Cole is at ringside with Pat McAfee now. They briefly hype the show and send us to the ring.

MATCH #1: SmackDown Tag Team Championship Match:
Jimmy Uso and Jey Uso © vs. Shinsuke Nakamura and Rick Boogs
We go right to the stage and Rick Boogs is out with his guitar. He does the grand introduction and begins performing as partner Shinsuke Nakamura makes his way out. McAfee jumps on top of the announce table and goes wild as Boogs and Nakamura shred down the long ramp. LED
