The post-In Your House edition of WWE NXT 2.0 opens up with a look back at last Saturday’s IYH event. We’re now LIVE from the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida as Vic Joseph welcomes us. He’s joined at ringside by Wade Barrett.
We go right to the ring and Alicia Taylor introduces the NEW NXT North American Champion. Carmelo Hayes comes out with Trick Williams.
Trick says things are back to normal. Hayes gives credit where credit is due, and says Cameron Grimes was one of his toughest challengers, but the goal was to get him back to the NXT North American Championship, and now Hayes is the goal. He says he doesn’t chase dreams, dreams chase him, and he is what the people want to be. Hayes goes on insulting the crowd as the boos get louder. Hayes goes on praising himself and says he’s got right now. The music interrupts and out comes Solo Sikoa.
Fans chant “Solo!” as Sikoa speaks from ringside. He congratulates Hayes and says nobody wants to hear all that. Fans chant “you got next!” now. Solo says this is NXT 2.0 where we do more fighting than talking. Solo enters the ring now. He says everyone knows he’s got next at the North American Championship. Trick says that agreement was between Solo and Grimes, and it’s no longer valid. Hayes says Solo bet on the wrong one. Solo says they see no fear in his eyes, and he’s got Hayes’ number, everyone knows it. The music interrupts and out comes Grayson Waller to boos.
Waller asks Solo who the hell he is, and says he’s not famous to have Hayes’ number. Waller goes on about how he doesn’t care about Solo’s “blood type,” a reference to The Bloodline. He implies Solo only has his opportunity because of who he’s related to. Fans chant “shut the hell up!” to Waller. He says no one in NXT likes Solo, which is why he’s called Solo. Solo tells Waller to shut up and says tonight he’s not alone, he’s with the crowd. Fans pop. Solo says if Waller wants to fight, then so be it… Solo immediately attacks and drops Trick and Hayes. Waller steps through the ropes and attacks Solo. Sikoa tries to fight off all three heels but they beat him down to boos. Officials rush down and check on Solo as Trick, Hayes and Waller exit the ring. Solo stares them down.
We get a video package on Von Wagner vs. Josh Briggs. We go to commercial.
Back from the break and we see footage of Legado del Fantasma waiting in the parking lot earlier today. A black SUV arrives and it’s Tony D’Angelo, Troy “Two Dimes” Donovan and Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo. Tony orders Santos Escobar and Joaquin Wilde to open the doors of the SUV to let them out. Tony asks Santos and Wilde about a few pieces of business he had them handle. Tony tells Escobar to get ready because he’s got a match tonight. Escobar seethes as they walk away.
MATCH #1: One-On-One Match:
Josh Briggs vs. Von Wagner
We go back to the ring and out first comes Josh Briggs with Fallon Henley and the injured Brooks Jensen. Von Wagner is out next with Mr. Stone and Sofia Cromwell.
They start brawling before the bell now. The bell finally rings and Briggs unloads with punches in the corner. Wagner turns it around with knees to the gut and shoulder thrusts. Wagner takes Briggs to another corner for more big power strikes. Briggs with a running tackle for a pop from the crowd.
Briggs with a big right hand from the floor while Wagner is draped on the middle rope. Briggs gets distracted, allowing Wagner to deck him with a big right hand. Wagner unloads in the corner, beating Briggs down as the referee warns him. Briggs fights back and mounts some offense but it’s countered. Wagner with a big side-slam for a 2 count. Wagner works on the arm but Briggs gets free and drops him with another big right, then nails a boot. Wagner avoids a slam and sends Briggs to the floor.
Wagner follows and works Briggs over, right in front of Jensen. Wagner rolls Briggs right back in, then grabs Brooks’ injured arm and slams it into the edge of the apron. Henley yells at the referee now, distracting him. Briggs takes advantage of the distraction and Jensen slides the cast into him. He decks Wagner with it and then flattens him with a lariat for the pin to win.
Winner: Josh Briggs
After the match: Briggs stands tall as the music hits. The replay shows us Jensen and Henley worked together to cause the distraction so he could slide the cast to Briggs. Briggs, Jensen and Henley celebrate as Stone, Cromwell and Wagner look on. Cromwell shoots a look at Henley.
BACKSTAGE: McKenzie Mitchell is with Solo Sikoa in the trainer’s room. Solo has ice on his shoulder. Solo says he wants Carmelo Hayes and Grayson Waller tonight. McKenzie asks about a partner and Solo says someone can come out and join him if they want to, but tonight he will leave both of those bitches the same way they left him.
MATCH #2: One-On-One Match:
Nathan Frazer vs. Santos Escobar
We go back to the ring and out comes Nathan Frazer to a pop. He hits the ring and we go back to commercial.
Back from the break and we see Thea Hail with Andre Chase, Bodhi Hayward and the Andre Chase University student group. Chase presents Hail with a scholarship for the 2022-2023 academic year. Hail thanks him and says she’s excited to be here, and excited to perfect her craft here. Hail asks to take a group selfie. Pretty Deadly walks up and knocks them for taking the photo. Bodhi taunts them for losing the NXT Tag Team Championships. Pretty Deadly backs off after being reminded about the title loss at In Your House. We go back to the ring and out comes Santos Escobar with Tony D’Angelo, Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo, Troy “Two Dimes” Donovan, Joaquin Wilde, and Cruz Del Toro. Tony’s music plays but fans are chanting Santos’ theme. Tony D taunts and barks at Santos in the ring, then joins the announcers for commentary. Wilde and Del Toro are standing by the entrance, while Stacks and Two Dimes are also watching from ringside.
Frazer looks on a bit surprised at Santos. The bell rings and they go at it. Santos goes behind. They break and Santos takes Frazer down by his arm, grounding him. Frazer counters but Escobar blocks him and makes him back off. They lock up again and Santos slams Frazer. Santos grounds Frazer while fans do dueling chants for Santos and Tony. Tony yells at Santos to do something because this is boring with him grounding Frazer. Frazer fights free and uses his speed to mount some offense. They have a stalemate.
Frazer rocks Santos and sends him to the floor retreating. Frazer runs and goes to dive out but he puts the brakes on. Tony yells at Santos to go back into the ring and wrestle. More back and forth between Santos and Frazer now. Santos sends Frazer flying out to the floor. Fans chant for Santos as he nails a big suicide dive to Frazer on the floor now. Tony tells Santos to quit doing dives, get it out of his arsenal, because no one likes it. Santos argues back at ringside as we go to a picture-in-picture.
Back from the break and Frazer fights out of the corner. Santos whips him into the turnbuckles and he goes upside down, then into a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker from Santos. Frazer kicks out at 2. Santos goes on and applies a Surfboard submission now. Santos plants Frazer face-first out of the hold for a 2 count. Santos with a Boston Crab now. Tony yells at Stacks to tell Santos to tighten up. Frazer crawls for the bottom rope and finally gets it to break the hold.
Santos and Tony D argue some more. Frazer counters a move and rolls Santos for 2. Frazer counters again. They run the ropes and Frazer drops Santos with a forearm. Frazer keeps control and hits a standing Shooting Star Press for another close 2 count. Santos dodges a corkscrew 450 from the top, then rocks Frazer.
Frazer blocks the Phantom Driver but Santos superkicks him, sending him to the floor. A crowbar is slid to Santos from Two Dimes but he doesn’t want it. The distraction allows Frazer to drop Santos from the apron. Frazer goes back to the top and hits the 450 for the pin to win.
Winner: Nathan Frazer
After the match: Tony talks some trash as Frazer’s music hits and he begins celebrating. We go to replays. Cruz and Wilde check on Santos in the middle of the ring now. Tony, Two Dimes and Stacks stand over them with Tony ranting at Santos.
BACKSTAGE: McKenzie Mitchell is with Xyon Quinn, who doesn’t care for Nathan Frazer or Wes Lee as they are all the same, guys who carry around a rabbit foot to get lucky. Quinn says he’s had to sit there and listen to Lee and people praise him. Quinn says he dominated Lee for most of their match but Lee pulled 3 seconds out and that’s called luck where he’s from, not a victory. Quinn goes on about how he will dominate Lee in their rematch next week, and Lee better hope he has Sanga there to pick him up. Quinn says when he’s done with Lee, Lee will be unconscious. Quinn walks off.
We see Bron Breakker walking backstage. Back to commercial.
Back from the break and out comes NXT Champion Bron Breakker to a big pop.
Breakker says In Your House was a battle and Joe Gacy put up a fight, and attacked him mentally, physically and he even made things personal by going after Bron’s father and family, but no matter what Gacy did, he was not taking the NXT Championship from Breakker. Breakker says it wasn’t about him, it’s been about NXT and this place is special. Fans chant “NXT!” now.
Bron says he came back through the curtain and saw the looks on everyone’s faces – they want a shot at the title. Bron says the question now is – who’s going to step up to the challenge? The music interrupts and out comes RAW Superstar Apollo Crews to a pop. Breakker also looks excited to see Crews, who does not have Commander Azeez with him.
Fans go wild for Crews. Crews says we can believe this as he means this from the bottom of his heart, this is the kind of energy he misses. Fans chant his name again. Crews says he wasn’t here on Saturday but he’s here now and he’s here for as long as he wants to be. Crews congratulates Breakker on his Championship reign. Fans chant “we miss you!” and Crews has missed them also.
Crews has watched Bron’s meteoric rise to the top and he is one of the best in all of WWE. Crews says NXT is special and he loves this place. Crews says the first time he left NXT, he left too soon, and he left a lot of things on the table that he wanted to accomplish, but he’s back to right history, to change history and to make history. Crews is confident that sooner than later he and Breakker will be making history together, but until that day, Crews will see Breakker around. They shake hands in the middle of the ring and the NXT theme song starts up. Crews exits the ring and greets fans at ringside as Breakker heads to the back.
We get a video package for the finals of the Breakout Tournament. We see Tiffany Stratton backstage. We also see Roxanne Perez get some words of encouragement from Cora Jade and Indi Hartwell. Perez heads off as we go to commercial.
Back from a break and Joe Gacy is somewhere with his two hooded disciples. Gacy says recognizing you can’t get through this life alone is not a weakness, it’s a strength. There are people in this world who need guidance. Gacy says they were both prime examples as they realized they were not fulfilled, so they cleared their minds and opened their hearts to Gacy. He says we’ve made great strides and there are people that don’t understand they are shaping the world by maximizing their exposure on the platform they have each and every week. Gacy says their message is far more important than any worldly possessions or symbols, but now they can focus on the progression of these two. Gacy says to forget what they’ve been called, they are now The Dyad (sp?), and they will continue to be an extension of Gacy, starting next week when they compete in the ring for the first time. Gacy smiles to end the segment.
MATCH #3: Finals of the NXT Women’s Breakout Tournament:
Tiffany Stratton vs. Roxanne Perez
We go back to the ring for the finals of the inaugural NXT Women’s Breakout Tournament. Out first comes Tiffany Stratton. The winner of this match will receive a contract for a title shot of their choosing. Out next comes Roxanne Perez. We get formal ring introductions from Alicia Taylor.
Fans chant for Perez to start. The bell hits and Stratton puts Perez down first, then taunts her. Fans do dueling chants now. Perez with a headlock. Stratton takes Perez down for a quick pin attempt. Stratton taunts Perez but Perez catches a kick. They tangle some more and Stratton lands on her feet off a counter, but then turns around to a low dropkick.
Perez keeps control and stomps Stratton’s hand, then taunts her. Perez works on the arm now. Stratton turns it around and grounds Perez by her arm. Perez keeps trying to break free but Stratton controls her by her arm. Perez fights up and out, then slams Stratton and applies a headlock of her own. Stratton counters and rams Perez face-first into the top turnbuckle.
Perez turns it back around and hits a running uppercut into the corner. Stratton goes for the arm again but Perez chops her. Perez goes to the top but Stratton rips her off, sending her to the floor, hitting the top rope on the way down. Perez is down at ringside as Stratton stands tall in the ring. Back to commercial.
Back from the break and we see the Breakout contract. Stratton has Perez grounded by her arm. Perez gets out and charges but Stratton drops her. Stratton with a standing moonsault for 2. Stratton goes back to grounding Perez by her arm once again. Stratton continues to dominate, delivering a handspring across the ring for a big elbow in the corner. Stratton with a running boot for a close 2 count. Perez counters a move now but Stratton takes her to the top. Perez kicks Stratton away, then hits a big Lou Thesz Press and right hands.
Perez sends Stratton out for a breather, then runs the ropes and hits a suicide dive. Fans chant for Perez as she brings Stratton back in and drops her for a close 2 count. Perez kicks Stratton and hits a twisting elbow drop but she lands awkwardly and clutches her arm. They trade 2 counts again. Stratton with a sitdown powerbomb for another close 2 count.
Stratton can’t believe it and she’s frustrated now. Stratton stomps as fans rally for Perez. Stratton goes to the corner but Perez grabs her leg out of desperation, then gets kicked away. Stratton misses the big top rope moonsault and Perez follows up with the Pop Rocks Destroyer for the pin to win the tournament.
Winner: Roxanne Perez
After the match: Perez stands tall as her music hits and fans cheer her on. Cora Jade rushes in to celebrate with Perez as we go to replays. Jade then hands the Breakout contract to Perez and she raises it in the air. The music interrupts and out comes Toxic Attraction – NXT Women’s Champion Mandy Rose and NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions Gigi Dolin and Jacy Jayne. Rose congratulates Perez and says she really should be proud of everything, and she even has her best friend with her to help soak it all in. Rose tells Perez to really enjoy this moment because unfortunately it’s all downhill from here. Fans boo as Rose enters the ring. Rose says if Perez thinks she’s going to cash in the contract on her, she’s wrong because she has a better chance going to RAW or SmackDown or leaving it in her closet somewhere. Rose says Perez will fail if she challenges her. Rose also taunts Jade for failing in the tournament. Rose says her NXT Women’s Championship isn’t going anywhere, any time soon. Rose goes to insult Jade again but Perez drops her with a stiff shot out of nowhere. A big brawl breaks out now. Indi Hartwell runs down to even the odds. Dolin and Jayne are sent to the floor, then Indi kicks Rose in the face to knock her off the apron. Toxic Attraction re-groups at ringside as the two sides have words.
The cameras go backstage and Bodhi Hayward is down as officials check on him. Andre Chase and Thea Hail rush over to check on him. Bodhi says Pretty Deadly attacked him. Chase is furious. He walks off to find Pretty Deadly as we go back to commercial.
Back from the break and McKenzie Mitchell is backstage with Wendy Choo. Before McKenzie can finish her intro, Tiffany Stratton walks up ranting about the tournament finals. Choo keeps trying to speak but Stratton is ranting and raving, she wants a rematch. Choo splashes her drink on Stratton and walks off. Stratton screams.
MATCH #4: Two-On-One Handicap Match:
Elton Prince and Kit Wilson vs. Andre Chase
We go back to the ring and out comes Pretty Deadly – Elton Prince and Kit Wilson. Out next comes Andre Chase by himself.
Chase is furious as he immediately hits the ring and starts destroying Prince and Wilson. Chase sends Wilson out and goes to work on Prince in the corner. Wilson runs back in but gets dropped, then Prince gets back-dropped. They end up taking control of Chase but he explodes out of the corner with a clothesline to Prince. Prince turns it back around, sends Chase face-first into the turnbuckle, then tags in Wilson. Chase gets double teamed in the corner now.
Vic indicates Bodhi Hayward was supposed to be in the match but he was attacked earlier. The 2-on-1 beatdown continues as Chase tries to fight back. Bodhi comes crawling out but he’s in pain. Thea Hail comes out and tells him to stop because of his condition. Bodhi says Andre needs them.
Hail runs to the ring and hits the apron. She slaps Prince after he yells at her. This wakes up Chase now and he unloads on Wilson after dropping Prince. Chase nods to Hail and stomps away on Wilson as fans spell C-H-A-S-E-U to a big pop.
Hail is still on the apron, apparently waiting for a tag. Prince tags in and kicks Chase in the head. Pretty Deadly hits the modified Hart Attack in the middle of the ring for the pin to win.
Winners: Elton Prince and Kit Wilson
After the match: Pretty Deadly celebrates as Chase University recovers.
BACKSTAGE: Tony D’Angelo, Two Dimes and Stacks walk up on Trick Williams and Carmelo Hayes and Tony says Hayes wasn’t the only one who had a win at In Your House. They have some words and Trick steps up to defend Hayes, putting him over as being on the top of NXT. Hayes isn’t interested in giving Tony a shot. Tony says that’s fine but Hayes better stay out of his way, son, or this Championship reign will end in the blink of an eye. Tony wishes Hayes good luck in tonight’s main event, then walks off. Hayes and Trick aren’t happy.
MATCH #5: Women’s One-On-One Match:
Alba Fyre vs. Tatum Paxley
We go back to the ring and out comes Alba Fyre with her baseball bat, which has a flame on the end. Fyre poses on the apron and fire graphics shoot up but the flame on her bat goes out. She enters the ring as we go back to commercial.
Back from the break and Tatum Paxley is out. They lock up and trade holds. Paxley takes Fyre down and grounds her by her arm now. Fyre breaks free and slams Paxley on her front side. Paxley kicks out at 2. More back and forth now. Paxley counters a move but runs into a big knee strike for another 2 count.
Fans do dueling chants now. Fyre rocks Paxley and sends her face-first into the top turnbuckle. Fyre slams Paxley with a suplex for another pin attempt. Fans chant “she’s on fire!” at Fyre now. Fyre hits the Gory Bomb. Fyre goes to the top and hits a big Swanton, despite Paxley moving farther away, for the pin to get the easy win.
Winner: Alba Fyre
After the match: Fyre stands tall as the music hits. We go to replays. Fyre is making her exit and playing to the crowd. She turns around at the entrance-way right as Lash Legend runs out and levels her with a big boot. Legend looks down at Fyre and talks trash.
Roderick Strong walks up on the rest of The Diamond Mine in the back – Ivy Nile, Damon Kemp and the NEW NXT Tag Team Champions The Creed Brothers. Strong says he gave The Creeds a hard time, but the group is all Alphas, especially Big Ive. Strong says In Your House was the biggest challenge of The Creeds’ careers, and they rose to the occasion, and dominated. Strong congratulates them and brings everyone in for a Diamond Mine group hug. Malik Blade and Edris Enofe walk up and congratulate The Creed Brothers. They’re happy they got their moment, but they’re also wondering if they can earn a shot at the NXT Tag Team Championships. Julius Creed mentions how he heard them talking trash, but he was just messing with them as the two teams embrace and have a laugh. The Creeds say they would be honored to give Enofe and Blade a NXT Tag Team Championship Match next week. They fist bump each other and the challengers walk off. Strong doesn’t look happy. He asks them what they’re doing, this isn’t Christmas, you don’t give out Championship matches for free, they have to earn it. Strong says that’s right, The Creeds have never been champions, and he’s been a champion countless times, and now that he thinks about it, The Creeds made several mistakes in the ring on Saturday night, and they’re lucky to be champions. Strong says he was giving them one mistake as champions and they just made it. Strong walks off as Brutus Creed, Julius, Kemp and Nile look on.
Back from the break and we get a new “Veni Vidi Vici” vignette for Giovanni Vinci. It’s revealed that this is the new gimmick for Fabian Aichner, and he will be here next week.
MAIN EVENT: Tag Team Match:
Grayson Waller and Carmelo Hayes vs. Solo Sikoa and Apollo Crews
We go back to the ring for tonight’s Handicap Match main event as Grayson Waller and NXT North American Champion Carmelo Hayes are out with Trick Williams. Solo Sikoa comes out but he stops at the entrance-way. Solo says as much as he’d love to come in the ring and beat up both of his opponents tonight, he brought someone with him who wants to get down. The music hits and out comes Apollo Crews to a huge pop.
Crews and Solo rush the ring and a brawl breaks out. They clear the ring of Waller, Trick and Hayes as fans go wild. Fans chant for Apollo as the heels re-group at ringside. Solo and Hayes start things off now. Waller tags in before Hayes can do anything. Waller ducks Solo and unloads with strikes.
Waller with a headbutt but it hurts him and not Solo. Apollo tags in as Solo slams Waller. Apollo launches himself in from the apron for a pop. Apollo with a long vertical suplex on Waller, holding him in the air as fans count to 30. Crews and Hayes have some words as fans chant for the RAW Superstar. Solo tags back in and goes to work on Waller. Solo with a headbutt to the mat for a 2 count. Solo works on the arm now. Apollo comes off the top and hits Waller’s arm as Solo holds him. Waller rocks Crews and in comes Hayes. Crews doesn’t realize Hayes is legal so he goes for Waller in the corner. Waller lures him in, allowing Hayes to rush Crews and take him down.
Crews gets double teamed now. Waller stomps away in the corner. Waller with a suplex. Waller controls for a few more minutes until Crews rocks him. Solo tags in and stops Waller from tagging. Solo unloads and hits the Rikishi Splash in the corner. Crews ends up taking Hayes and Waller down in front of the announce table as fans cheer him on. Crews returns to the ring and stands tall as we go to a picture-in-picture break.
Back from the break and Solo tags in to go at it with Hayes. Solo unloads and keeps Hayes down in the corner. Solo goes for the running splash but Waller pulls Hayes to safety. A distraction allows Hayes to drop Solo with a big Cutter. Hayes mounts Solo with rights and lefts. Waller tags in and they double team Solo as the referee warns them. Waller keeps stomping on Solo as fans boo and the referee counts. Solo fights Waller off but he keeps coming. Waller slams Solo and goes to the ropes for a big elbow drop from the middle rope. Solo still kicks out at 2.
Fans rally for Solo now as they take turns on him. Crews reaches for a tag while Trick taunts Solo while he’s stuck in Waller’s Crossface. Solo finally gets the bottom rope to break the hold. Solo sends Waller into Hayes to knock him off the apron. Crews finally tags in and he runs wild on Waller. Crews with three big German suplexes, and another huge suplex, then a big German to Hayes.
Fans chant “Suplex City!” at Crews. Crews with a big splash to Waller in the corner, then a kip-up for a pop, then a standing moonsault for a 2 count as Hayes breaks the pin up just in time. Solo and Hayes unload with punches now as fans chant “this is awesome!” Hayes eats a big superkick, and then he and Solo tumble to the floor. Waller and Crews go at it. Waller runs out and back in through the ropes, rolling at Crews for the big Cutter but Crews catches him in mid-move, and drops him with a Blue Thunderbomb for the pin to win.
Winners: Apollo Crews and Solo Sikoa
After the match: The fans pop as Crews and Sikoa stand tall. We go to replays. Crews and Sikoa pose at the entrance-way now, motioning for gold around their waists. The post-In Your House edition of NXT 2.0 goes off the air.
